Popular Motailatu Church of God Commemorates 60th Anniversary With Week-long Activities


The 60th Anniversary celebration of Motailatu Church of God has commenced with series of activities lined up to make the diamond jubilee memorable.

A statement by a member of the church's Board of Trustees, Very Reverend David Akinadewo-Adekahunsi says the celebration has commenced with a special Anniversary revival at the Motailatu Church of God International headquarters, St Adekahunsi cathedral, Ondo Town, Ondo state.

According to the statement, the special anniversary revival which commenced on Monday, June 10 2024 will run till Friday, June 14, 2024 at 4pm daily.

A medical outreach is slated for Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the church premises.

Ordination of parishioners will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024 while the grand finale, a special Anniversary thanksgiving holds on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Venue is the Motailatu Church of God International headquarters, St. Adekahunsi Cathedral, adjacent NEPA Office, off Brigadier Ademulegun Road, Oke-Iwosan, Ondo City, Ondo State at 10am.

The statement enjoins all and sundry to be part of the programme which promises to be life changing.

The statement added that Chairman, Board of Trustees of Motailatu Church of God worldwide, Senior Superintendent Gabriel F. Akinadewo (Omo Jesu ll), would preside at the memorable events.

Among the dignitaries expected to grace the Diamond Jubilee celebration are the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eleven Ondo Assembly Members Plot to Declare Aiyedatiwa Acting Governor After Receiving Bribe in Abuja

In a shocking turn of events, eleven members of the Ondo State House of Assembly are allegedly planning to declare the embattled deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as acting governor without recourse to the governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.  These clandestine meetings reportedly took place in Abuja, where each of the eleven members received a substantial bribe of $10,000. Supreme Court reserves judgment in 19 states' suit challenging constitutionality of EFCC, others.

Imo, Bauchi, Osun, Taraba join as Anambra, Adamawa, Ebonyi withdraw  The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, reserved judgment in the suit filed by 19 states challenging the constitutionality of the laws establishing the EFCC and two others to a date to be communicated to the parties. The plaintiffs, in the suit marked: SC/CV/178/2023 had argued that the Supreme Court, in Dr. Joseph Nwobike Vs Federal Republic of Nigeria, had held that it was a UN Convention against corruption that was reduced into the EFCC Establishment Act and that in enacting this law in 2004, the provision of Section 12 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, was not followed.  The argument was that, in bringing a convention into the Nigerian law, the provision of Section 12 must be complied with.  According to them, the provision of the Constitution necessitated the majority of the states' Houses of Assembly agreeing to bringing the convention in before passing the EFCC Act and others, which was all...
